The Franklin PTA Needs You!!

Get involved and have a direct influence on our Franklin community. Stay connected to what's happening at school and in the district. Kids thrive, families get to know each other, and lifelong friendships are made through the PTA.

Mid to late August

In Mid-August, you will receive mail from the District Office giving you an access code and asking you to update your emergency information.  There will also be other important school news on the log in as well.  This is paperwork is mandatory and the printed pages are due to the school on or by the first day of school. 

 

Closer to the first day of school, Franklin will mail you a letter with your child's classroom and teacher, as well as other beginning of school information.

 

Please make sure we have your correct address on file!

The First Day of School is Wednesday, August 24, 2016

All Students attend 8:30 - Noon (TK's 8:45-12:15).  Parents, join us for coffee in the gym when you drop off your students and at pick up time, there will be an All-School BBQ!  See below for the 2016-2017 Franklin Calendar.

FRANKLIN DATES FOR 2016-2017

Please note - some event dates may change throughout the year.  Please check back to this website often for changes/additions and always refer to your Franklin Falcon Newsletter sent via email every Thursday.

 

Tues., August 23   – TK and Kindergarten preview visit 1:30-2:00 p.m.

Wed., August 24 – First Day of School  - K-5  8:30-Noon (TK’s attend 8:45-12:15) – Parents, join us for coffee in the gym when you drop off your children and there will be an All-School BBQ at pickup!)

Thurs., August 25 – Grades 4-5 begin their regular school schedule – 8:30-3:00 (except every Tuesday 8:30-2:00) 

Thurs., August 25 –Fri., Sept. 2 – All K’s will attend 8:30-NOON and TK’s will attend 8:45-12:15

Thurs., August 25 – Fri., Sept. 2– Grades 1-3 attend school from 8:30-2:00

Mon., September 5 – No School – Labor Day Holiday

Tues., September 6– Students in Grades TK-3 begin their regular school schedule: 

TK’s attend 8:45-2:15 daily; K’s attend 8:30-2:00 daily; Students in Grades 1-3 begin their regular schedule: 8:30-3:00

 (except every Tuesday 8:30-2:00).  Please note, there are several “Early Dismissal Days” throughout the year.

Wed., September 7  – Back to School Night (Parents Only) at 6:30 PM.  Followed by a New Parent Meeting in the library at 7:30PM

Fri., September 9 - Early Dismissal – K-5 Students attend 8:30-1:30; TK’s attend 8:45 – 1:45

September 12 – 16 – Spirit Week! Daily themes TBA.

Thurs., September 15 – Picture Day

September 19 – 23  – Parent/Teacher Conferences –ALL Grades - K-5 -  1:30 dismissal; TK 1:45 dismissal.

September 26 & 27  – Parent/Teacher Conferences continue for Gr. 4 & 5 – 1:30 dismissal 9/26 and 2:00 dismissal 9/27.

October 3-7 – Ability Awareness Week

October 27 – Picture Makeups in the morning

Fri., October 28 – Halloween Parade

October 31 & November 1 – No School for Students – Teacher Professional Development Days

Fri., November 11– No School – Veteran’s Day

November 21-25 – No School – Thanksgiving Holiday

November 28 – December 2 – 5th Graders at Outdoor Ed

Mon., December 12 -  Franklin’s Winter Concert - 7 PM in the BIS Auditorium

Fri., December 16 –Early Dismissal - All students attend 8:30-1:30 (TK’s 8:45-1:45)

December 23 – January 6  – No School, Winter Break

Mon., January 9 – Return to School from Winter Break

Mon., January 16  – No School – Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

January 23-29 – BCE Read-a-Thon

Sun. January 29– Bowling with your sons

Sat., February 4  - Dancing with your daughters

February 20-24 - No School – President’s Holiday

March 13-17 – Parent/Teacher Conferences – For ALL GRADES -  K-5 -  1:30 dismissal; TK 1:45 dismissal

Sat., March 18 – Franklin’s Family Bingo Night  

March 20 & 21  – Parent/Teacher Conferences – continue for Gr. 4 & 5 – 1:30 dismissal 3/20 and 2:00 dismissal 3/21.

April 3-7 – No School – Spring Break

Wed., April 19 – 5th Grade Picture at 8:45 a.m.

Sat., April 22  – BCE Dinner Dance

May 1-5 – Teacher Appreciation Week

Thurs., May 11 – Franklin’s Spring Concert – 7 PM in the BIS Auditorium

Fri., May 12 - Early Dismissal - All students attend 8:30-1:30 (TK’s 8:45-1:45)

Mon., May 29 – No School – Memorial Day

The Board of Trustees adopted AR6153, which states: 
Parent volunteers will be required to have a fingerprint clearance on file to drive on school sponsored field trips. 

More information will be posted on our website and included in your "first day of school packet".
