What a great Jog-a-Thon!
Last Friday, the kids and teachers ran their legs off to raise money for our wonderful school. It was truly heart-warming to see them in their colorful Franklin T-shirts with big smiles on their faces as they sweat it out for a cause close to their hearts.
We couldn't have done it without our incredible Franklin community. Thank you to our amazing Jog-A-Thon committee Manisha Loonawat, Jeanette Laxague, and Stephanie Webb. And to Ms. Young, who motivated the kids to keep going while making it fun! Also, we can't forget all the teachers who ran with the kids and the parent volunteers who showed up to cheer the kids on.It's never too late to make a donation!
If you would like to make a donation or an additional donation,
1. Go to the following webpage: http://franklin.bsd.k12.ca.us/jog-a-thon and submit payment using PayPal
2. Leave a check (made payable to 'Franklin PTA') in the Jog-A-Thon Donations envelope in the office
3. Send a check labeled Jog-A-Thon to school with your child.
Donations can come from anywhere - family, friends, neighbors & beyond. This is a great way to involve our community in developing the great school Franklin has grown to become.
Our students, teachers & families need your support, so please donate TODAY!!!
Ability Awareness Week
Burlingame Schools' Special Education District Advisory Committee (SEDAC) invites you to the screening of the award-winning film "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia" which provides personal and uplifting accounts of the dyslexic experience from children, experts and iconic leaders, such as Sir Richard Branson, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and financier Charles Schwab.
After the screening we will have a discussion and provide information on how the Burlingame School District is addressing dyslexia, which is the most common learning difference (affecting 1 in 5 kids). Knowing about the challenges and gifts that come with this learning difference can help you better understand and support those struggling to demonstrate their true potential.
Friday, October 7th from 7:00 - 8:30pm
1151 Vancouver Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010
Admission is FREE
